About Us

Meet the Schravemade Family

We’re Peter, Ebonnie, and our son Neb Schravemade, the family behind Wolvi Mountain Retreat. After years of dreaming about creating a quiet escape in nature, we found our perfect spot: 26 acres on the ridge of Wolvi Mountain, surrounded by forest, wildlife, and sweeping mountain views. We’re proud to share this land with campers and cottage guests who value peace, space, and a touch of adventure.

Our Place in the Region

Wolvi is a small, welcoming community nestled in the hinterland of Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. We’re perfectly placed for exploring the best of the region:

  • Noosa – world-class beaches, shopping, and national parks (about 50 minutes away).

  • Tin Can Bay – famous for dolphin feeding at the marina (about 45 minutes).

  • Gympie – the nearest major town, with shopping centres, services, and history (around 25 minutes).

  • Sunshine Coast – all the attractions of the coast within a comfortable drive, but far enough away to enjoy true quiet when you return.

For a cold beer or casual meal, our closest pub is the Sublime Brewery — a local favourite for craft brews and friendly service. The Wolvi Hall is also at the heart of village life, hosting regular events including an open mic night on the first Friday of every month (worth checking out if you’re staying that weekend!).

  • Fuel: The nearest fuel is available at the Goomboorian Travel Stop, just a short drive from the property.

  • Shopping centres: For full groceries, dining, and retail, Gympie offers multiple supermarkets and shopping hubs. Noosa also provides extensive options if you’re heading in that direction.

The Property

Wolvi Mountain Retreat spans 26 acres of bushland with plenty of space to unwind. The land is home to kangaroos, wallabies, birdlife, and even the occasional koala in the treetops. We’ve created a mix of stays — from a freshly renovated 2-bedroom caretaker’s cottage to simple, low-impact bush campsites tucked among the trees.

One of our favourite features is the Salmon Point Walk, a gentle hike from the property that leads to a lookout with unforgettable views. From this ridge, the sun sets behind four distinct mountain ranges stretching north to south, a sight that never grows old, no matter how many times you see it. Evenings are best spent here or around the campfire, watching the sky change colour as the bushland quiets down for the night.

Pets at Wolvi Mountain Retreat

We know pets are part of the family, and we welcome them here. All animals must either remain on-leash or demonstrate reliable recall ability to ensure the safety of wildlife, other guests, and our own dogs (Raffa, Sirius Black, and Sandy) who occasionally wander down to say hello.

Why We Do It

Our goal is simple: to provide guests with the same sense of peace and connection we’ve found here. Whether you’re pitching a tent under the stars, exploring the lookout, or enjoying the comforts of the cottage, we want you to leave feeling refreshed, inspired, and eager to return.
