Camping at Wolvi Mountain Retreat was nothing short of magical. Our site was tucked among the trees with sweeping views, and we were treated to some unforgettable visitors, a curious koala lounging in the eucalypts above us and kangaroos grazing quietly nearby as the sun went down. The atmosphere was peaceful and felt wonderfully remote, yet warmly welcoming. Adding to the charm were the family’s three gentle puppies: Raffa, Sirius, and Sandy, who trotted over now and then to say hello, tails wagging and happy for a pat. Between the wildlife encounters, the friendly four-legged hosts, and the serene bush setting, it was the kind of camping experience that leaves you planning your next trip back before you’ve even packed up.

Our week at Wolvi Mountain Retreat was everything we hoped for and more. We brought our two kids and our two pups, and it was the perfect family escape. Days were filled with gentle walks up to Salmon Point lookout, where the view across the valleys took our breath away, and evenings came alive around the firepit as we watched the sun melt behind the line of four mountain ranges stretching north to south. The peace, the space, and the sense of connection, both with nature and with each other, made this camping trip truly unforgettable.

We booked the caretaker’s cottage for a romantic long weekend and it was just perfect. The cottage is beautifully renovated and so comfortable, but it was the views that really stole our hearts. Sitting on the deck with a glass of wine as the last light faded over the mountains felt like our own private world. Quiet, cosy, and unforgettable. We highly recommend for couples looking for a getaway
